Bosozoku car feature: Sexy Bistro
Some time ago Alexi Smith posted a Nissan Skyline R32 drift missile with some random tail light replacements. I did remember from what car one of them used to be, to be exact: from the Subaru Vivio Bistro. The car itself is a quite dull retro-look spin off kei car, but of course you can make it look great by doing this to it:

Slap a set of Hayashi Streets on it, some fender extenders, a big lip, an oilcooler on the bumper and suddenly it doesn’t look that boring anymore! 😉
The tsurikawa is supposed to be a Hello Kitty item, but I can’t really judge from the pictures whether that is actually the case or not…

Wheels are 13 inch 6J Hayashi Street (ET+13 front, ET+7 rear) with 155/65 R13 tires ballooning around them.

And here you can see how far these not so wide wheels stick out of a Bistro without the fender extenders… Imagine how wide a 9J rims would be! 😀
I really love the tiny details they put on this car like the star shaped stickers on the headlights. Too bad there weren’t any pictures of the rear of the car yet…

Bosozoku car feature: the Norwegian Epic Jag
A bosozoku style car feature from outside Japan? And even a very un-JDM car? Why?
Well, its just because you start off with buying one of the most typical British sports cars:

A 1989 Jaguar XJS with a 5.3 HE V12 under its hood!
And plan to do this with it:

Now that is a very bold modification! People will probably think it is either not JDM enough or it is a waste of British car heritage, but you can also think it will just take the best from both worlds: a sportscar with a displacement only the current LF-A can come near to and a wicked mad bodykit only the Pythons could have come up with!
Espenis: Everyone on the norwegian car scene that hears about the project think we have gone mad to do such a thing to a classic british sports car – I see that as a sign that we are on the right path – it’s about time Norway gets its first bosozoku..!
I can’t agree more than that!

The XJS was bought in Cheltenham in the United Kingdom and driven through Denmark to Norway somewhere earlier this year and the four masterminds behind the boldest Norwegian car modification started stripping down the Jag.
This is also the state the Jag is currently in. They are planning to do the bumpers/lip in fibreglass and the arches with metal.
The also changed the plans a bit:

As you can see hood fins and a big ass spoiler are in planning as well. Hopefully some weird headlight swap will come along the way as well. 😉

Bosozoku car feature: Robin’s rat look N13 Sunny zokusha
A few weeks back Robin Whitfield contacted me if his rat look zokusha Sunny could become a feature on the blog. This may be a strange feature for a lot of you, but in my opinion it is actually one of the most interesting! The bosozoku style is already one big mix of different styles, so I thought: why not?

Robin started out with modifying his Euro Sunny N13 (aka Pulsar N13 in Japan) to rat-look about two years ago and named it Assassin. Lately he got into the bosozoku style, so he started to add several zokusha cues to it!

First he started adding an oil cooler and later on wide arches and deep dish steelies. His latest additions are the side exhaust, metro strap (tsurikawa) and the steelies are swapped for a set of 13 inch Ally cats.

The car is lowered about 100mm and the wheels are 13 inch in diameter and 8J wide. The fender extenders complete the Assassin look!

The bosozoku style combined with the roof rack makes the car an extrordinary mix between the two styles!

Compare the old rat-look with the new rat-look-zokusha… According to Jamie Oliver fusion cuisine is always a good thing!

Okumi from Thailand sent me the pictures of his Thai zokusha: a 1972 Nissan 240Z!

He owns the Z for seven years now and he is slowly turning it into a genuine zokusha!

This (and previous) picture was taken at the Bangsan Classic Automobile Festival, held on the 27th of february, showing his latest addition: a new sky tailpipe!
Looking at the immaculate cars in the background it sure must have given quite a shock for the other attendees! 😉

Okumi also uses his 240Z for the occasional trackday, so it is not only meant to look good but also meant to act right on the circuit!

Apart from the sky exhaust pipe the 240Z was given an oilcooler, police lights behind the grille, fender extenders and a set of 14 inch SSR mk2s!
Unfortunately this is as low as he can go: the Thai roads are not as flat as the Japanese, lot’s of bumps and potholes! It doesn’t matter: the car looks already great!
