That was actually the catch of this picture: it could easily be mixed up with the Chaser. I bet Toyota thought the Mustang II didn’t look that great and just improved the looks to what we now know as the Chaser/Mark II X3/X4!

Ford Mustang II? Not too common in Japan, but I recall seeing one in a short clip from Abunai Deka. 🙂
Plus, the vynil top sticks out like a sore thumb and that front end is unmistakable.
Indeed it is not a Chaser MX41 but a Mustang II. They look very similar in appearance, but the vinyl coupe roof gives away that it is a Mustang II.
