Tsurikawa

Bosozoku car feature: Sexy Bistro

Some time ago Alexi Smith posted a Nissan Skyline R32 drift missile with some random tail light replacements. I did remember from what car one of them used to be, to be exact: from the Subaru Vivio Bistro. The car itself is a quite dull retro-look spin off kei car, but of course you can make it look great by doing this to it:

Slap a set of Hayashi Streets on it, some fender extenders, a big lip, an oilcooler on the bumper and suddenly it doesn't look that boring anymore! ;)

The tsurikawa is supposed to be a Hello Kitty item, but I can't really judge from the pictures whether that is actually the case or not...
See the tsurikawa and more after the jump!

Exhaust of the week: Brougham side exhaust

The Nissan Gloria Brougham Y30 only had one model above it: the Brougham VIP! This particular Gloria Brougham was made more luxurious by adding a set of SSR Mk Is, a side exhaust, a big wing on the trunk and let's not forget the tsurikawa in the rear for added passenger comfort!

Random: bosozoku styled Toyota Cressida MX73

Mike Garrett of Speedhunters posted this picture of a bosozoku styled Cressida last monday:

The Cressida was at the Japanese Classic Car Show '09 held at Hidden Valley Park in Irvine. What Mike liked about the Cressida wasn't the huge exhaust (takeyari) but the folded licenseplate which is completely right according to the bosozoku style!

What Mike missed were some other key elements: the piston tsurikawa scraping over the ground (hanging from the towhook), the deep dish rims and the two other zokusha Cressidas next to this one! Lucky enough Japanese Nostalgic Car blog had a picture of the three cars together:

JNC blog has some more pictures of the three Cressidas here.

Too bad there isn't a picture of the front of the cars to see if they also has got an oilcooler mounted below the bumpers! ;)

Bosozoku car feature: Demon Cedric Y31

So, what's left if you get bored with your bosozoku style die cast collection? You create an itasha out of it!

No, I'm not out of my mind posting a scale model in the car features! The reason for this is because it is a very well done itasha model! ;)

Rare bosozoku cars: Toyota Corona T14

I have a weak spot for the Toyota Corona T14 series: they are closely related to the Toyota Carina and Celica.

I found this great bosozoku styled Corona some time ago on multiple meetings and picture galleries:

It has been modified seriously with a sharknose, fins, big lip, oil cooler, deep dish wheels, tsurikawa and a big V-shaped exhaust! Unfortunately I could not find a picture rear of the car including the V-shaped exhaust:
