    • Oct 28thHow deep is your dish?

Remember one of the early deep dish postings about a set of vintage Racing Hart rims (mounted on a Toyota Mark II MX41 Hardtop Grande) for sale on Auctions Yahoo?

The seller has some new rims for sale:
Techno Shadow 14 inch 13J rims on zokusha Mark II
Techno Shadow 14 inch 13J rims on zokusha Mark II

In case you have noticed those enormous wide fenders: apparently those enormously wide 13J rims do fit in there!

Techno Shadow 14 inch 13J rims on zokusha Mark II
Techno Shadow 14 inch 13J rims on zokusha Mark II

Unlike the first picture suggests he is only selling a set of 2 rims. The rims have a bolt pattern of PCD 114.3. They are 14 inch in diameter, 13J wide and have an offset of -74. Amazing!

In case you are interested, you can find the action here. But beware: 13J rims are very rare and the current bid is already at $3200! Of course you can always use the buy me now option and pay $3800 and be sure that you have absolutely an unique and rare pair of rims under your car!

Remember the beautiful SSR F5 rims we posted two weeks ago? Well, how about a set of SSR F6 then?
      SSR F6 14 inch 6.5J
      SSR F6 14 inch 6.5J

You may think they are not as beautiful as the F5s, but they are much rarer than those 12 inch wide F5s!

This also reflects in the price: the F5s have a current bid of 10,500 yen ($115) for two rims and the F6s have a current bid of 49,800 yen ($560) for four rims!
      SSR F6 14 inch 6.5J
      SSR F6 14 inch 6.5J

The only vehicles able to use a six lugnut and use 6.5J wide rims in a sane way are some small delivery vans and mini SUVs like the Daihatsu Rocky.

      SSR F6 14 inch 6.5J
      SSR F6 14 inch 6.5J

What’s even more puzzling: the rims are 14 inch but the tires are 155/55/R15! I’ve seen someone doing such thing with an innertube between the tire and the bead on the inside of the tire. Anyone familiar with that type of tire mounting?

You can find these rims on Auctions Yahoo

    • Oct 9thHow deep is your dish?

If you thought Zeppann13J was the only person to post amazing deep dish videos you were wrong: kybdirtra89 posted this video with a lot of yummy rims:

Nice touch is showing the width, size and offset of the wheels! (???)

      My personal favorite is the SSR Mk3 14 inch 11J ET-51 at 0:33! (???)

    • Sep 30thHow deep is your dish?

Due to Sundays poll I realized we never posted any deep dish 5 lug rims! Time to make that up by posting these beautiful SSR F5 rims:
      SSR F5 14 inch 12J
      SSR F5 14 inch 12J

The SSR F5 (aka Five Star) rims are unrelated to any other SSR rim design. Even though they are not a 5 lug version of the Mk 2 they do give you that same oldschool feeling as the Mk 2 rims!

      SSR F5 14 inch 12J
      SSR F5 14 inch 12J

These rims are 14 inch 12J wide rims with unknown offset still have a set of 245 Dunlop slicks mounted on them, so they are most probably either ex-racing or from a zokusha.

      SSR F5 14 inch 12J
      SSR F5 14 inch 12J

Since the ad mentions motorcycle gang (???) I presume that these rims belonged to a zokusha! (???)

    • Sep 29thBosozoku car feature: James’ Scion xB

Another bosozoku export car: US Scion xBs styled by James and Lenny!

      James' Scion xB zokusha
      James’ Scion xB zokusha

More than two months ago James sent me an email and I promised to put up his car as a user ride. I did write the post two or three times but never actually posted it because there always came something in between. Last week I found a video (after the jump!) of James’ xB together with another zokusha by Lenny. So, this is the final rewrite of the article, including pictures of Lenny’s Toyota bB as well!

James' Scion xB with V shaped exhaust
James’ Scion xB with V shaped exhaust

James has created an V shaped exhaust, an oil cooler and extremely widened fenders on his zokusha to fit those 15 inch 13J (ET -94!) Ronal Racing rims.

The Ronal rims are already quite rare in the US, but having them in 13J with such offset is extremely rare! He runs them on adapters since the bolt pattern is 114.3×4 which doesn’t fit any FWD Toyota. Currently he is driving his xB with slicks on the rear wheels.

The bizarre thing is that his car is mostly hated among Scion and Toyota owners, however he did manage to win first prize the xB wild competition at the Scion show in Santa Clarita!

Now, Lenny’s Scion xB is something else: it is currently badged as a Toyota bB (that’s how they are sold in Japan), has a star shaped exhaust and doesn’t even have on fender extenders!

      Lenny's deep dish

And in case you wonder how deep his dish is… Well, this is how deep it is!

You can see both zokushas in action (together with Lenny’s Scion xB as well) in this video:

Unfortunately Lenny’s bB didn’t have the deep dish yet (he runs the car on Toyota Snowflakes there!), but you will get the picture I guess!

If you want to read the whole buildup till now, you can find them here:
