Bosozoku car chase (stop motion)
I had a good laugh when I watched this stop motion animation of two bosozoku style cars being chased by the Japanese police:
The video is called Tomica "Brothers race shop". The two brothers drive a Nissan Skyline KPGC10 and a Nissan Skyline KDR30 Super Silhouette (replica) and even manage to get the military involved... The video was made by CARBOY0604 and his son. Love the way the music shifts from scene to scene. ;)

Bosozoku lifestyle: nameneko cats
You may have seen pictures of cats dressed up bosozoku a couple of times before and probably wondered what the idea behind these pictures were...
Somewhere during the late 80s the Nameneko cats (also called Pelorian) were a really popular hype. The hype was that people dressed up cats in ridiculous costumes and took pictures of it. The most famous creator of pictures and videos of these cats was an artist called Tsudo who called them Nameneko. Nameneko means unlickable (slang for Namen Nayo which means don't lick me).
This hype was also at the top of the popularity of the bosozoku, so naturally a lot of these cats were dressed up as bosozoku or Yanky.
You may think the Nameneko cats were exposed to cruelty. According to various sources the photoshoots were actually done very carefully without harming the cats! All cats are not looking angry nor freightened and cats defend themselves if they don't like the situation they are in.
Random: hanging out with the fuzz
Just found this picture, presumably from the early 90s:

Hanging out with the fuzz
Now that's a rad thing to do: hanging out of a cop car like it is a zokusha. Apparently the po doesn't mind since he is laughing about the scene. ;)
Exhaust of the week: the rev champion
This week we do not have a bosozoku style car in the exhaust of the week, but a bike! This bosozoku rev champion explains how you should play music on your bikes:
I was so impressed on how easy it actually is. It is all a combination of revving your engine and playing with the clutch to change the pitch of the sound! He also show how different it sounds per motorcycle! I love his play on the Gragae Flash creation best! :)
Imagine doing this on your zokusha! That would be a good use of the heel-to-toe technique! ;)
Bosozoku lifestyle: get caugth by the cops
Another user contributed video: Billy sent us this awesome video!
The video shows the other side of being a bosozoku member: the cops are after you!!
One guy in a yellow Soarer thinks he's Smokey (and the bandit too) and tries to break through the police barrier. After the police stopped and captured him not much is left of the Soarer! Not a pretty sight!
On the other hand the cop who confiscated a bike looks very funny when he attempts to balance the whole bike when driving off.
